So what’s the point of a Spanish Web Analytics Association?

We already had a worldwide Web Analytics Association, why a “Spanish” one? Simply, because most of us in the Spanish-speaking world (Latin American countries and Spain) feel completely out of the picture when everything is discussed and dealt with in a language which most people struggle with in these parts of the world.

So what? Learn English! Certainly, an option for some fortunate ones as myself, but not for most. We happen to live in large and populous countries where people’s daily lives do not depend that much on the outside world (or so we like to think, we proud Spaniards, so crap at languages). We even produce our own low-quality soap operas! :). Our many British friends will easily understand this if you ask them to discuss important matters in French or German!

In short: We need this if we are ever going to get serious about discussing Web Analytics. So now we have it. And this “English” section is our door to the outside world. Please check this section out every once in a while, as we will make an effort to publish our most important findings and comparative studies in both languages.

Welcome to the Spanish Web Analytics Association.

  1. Congratulation, in your new approach for us the web analytics community in Spanish, I was asking many time when this will happen because I’m in contact with the Brazilian community for web analytics and they have the same issue, we don’t deserve to have access to the last tool or maybe our market is not interesting in off to the web analytics community, thanks again to take the lead and open a new dimension for us, I was taking with many “GURUS” here in USA about this and nobody was concern about us, we need to request from the company’s sales the product give the support and the training in our language, I have the lucky to have all the training from web trends and S.E.O in English (of course) but many of our people don’t have the same opportunity, I hope soon some smart company will spend time to development our niche(we have a lot of money too)and we are the “green field” maybe one smart person will see the opportunity and will take all the market(the only one I know is Google), thanks again Marco (not a Guru)

  2. Hi Marco,

I understand your feeling (I’ve been there ;-)) and please be reassured that we are trying to work on this issue from the WAA. This is the reason why the International Committee exists within the Web Analytics Association. If you or others would like to join us to help spreading the association on an international level don’t hesitate to contact me or any of the International Committee members.

    Kind Regards from Brussels,

    René
